Our people like to have fun. Is coaching enjoyable?

Most of the time, the process will be very enjoyable: stimulating, exciting, creative, fun. However, one central feature of coaching is raising awareness, which can be difficult and challenging for people who are in very busy lives. Becoming more aware may be a painful process, because when people become aware they may realise they have been neglecting themselves, their closest and most important relationships, and their own sense of purpose and meaning. So whilst we are very committed to the enjoyment of dialogue and discovery and the satisfaction of making the right decisions and getting good results, we know that the work can be tough, too. That is why two key words in leadership are courage and compassion: Courage to see the whole picture, the weaknesses as well as the strengths, and compassion with oneself and others.
